Description from the seller
Features and Materials
Belgian Black Marble: The main body is carved from this very deep dark limestone, highly prized under Napoleon III for its solemn appearance.
Sea Green Marble (or Campan) : Inlays and columns use a green marble veined with white, creating a chromatic contrast typical of the period.
Architecture: The structure recalls an ancient monument. It is topped with two black marble craters (or bowls), serving as summit ornaments.
Dial: White enamel with Roman numerals. Two winding holes are observed (one for the movement of the hands, the other for the striking).
No key, and restoration to be collected or removal to be carried out by its own extremely heavy means.
