AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful large pierced fruit bowl / bonbon dish made of 835 silver, manufactured in Germany in the early 20th century.

The bowl features an elegant openwork (ajour) rim with floral motifs and a characteristic pearl edge along the top.

The interior has a perforated band around the bottom, which is a typical decorative element for Jugendstil silverware from this period.

The underside bears clear silver hallmarks:
• HZ – presumably the hallmark of the German silver manufacturer Heinrich Zimmermann, active in Pforzheim
• 835 – silver content (83.5% silver)
• extra control mark

The openwork design creates a beautiful play of light and shadow when the bowl sits on the table.

This type of bowl was originally used as a fruit bowl, bonbon dish or dessert bowl.

Dimensions
• Diameter: 28 cm
• Weight: 428 grams

Condition

Good antique condition with light signs of use appropriate for its age. No cracks or major damage. The stamps are clearly legible.
