Description from the seller
Garrard 125SB Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable – 1976 – Made in England
In excellent condition – No reserve.
A classic British hi-fi component from the golden era of analogue audio: the Garrard 125SB automatic belt-drive turntable, manufactured in Swindon, England during the mid-1970s. This model represents Garrard’s more refined belt-drive series and is often considered a luxury development of the well-known SP25 line, combining reliable engineering with elegant design.
The turntable features a beautifully finished wood-veneer plinth paired with an original smoked acrylic dust cover, a combination that perfectly reflects the understated aesthetic of 1970s British hi-fi equipment. The minimalist black top plate, aluminium platter, and distinctive S-shaped “swan-neck” tonearm give the unit a timeless technical appearance.
The Garrard 125SB was designed with an independently sprung sub-chassis to reduce vibration and improve playback stability. Its belt-drive system and synchronous motor ensure smooth, consistent rotation, while the automatic mechanism allows for convenient operation with both manual and automatic play modes.
Garrard, founded in 1915, became one of the most influential British manufacturers of record players and transcription turntables. During the 1960s and 1970s the company supplied both the consumer and professional markets, and models such as the 125SB are appreciated today for their solid engineering, classic styling, and dependable performance.
A beautiful vintage turntable and a true eye-catcher for any hi-fi enthusiast or collector of classic analogue equipment.
