Hardback, numbered special edition with an original lithograph in a cassette, of the Kunst book James Coignard by Marcelin Pleynet (190) in German, 220 pages, 307 x 250 mm, published in 1990 by Daniel Papierski.
Description from the seller
Very well-presented, hardbound and numbered edition with an original lithograph in a case, devoted to the splendid and also intriguing body of work of the well-known French artist James Coignard (1925-2008). This interesting artist attended the art academy in Nice and until 1950 mainly created ceramics. In the 1960s, Coignard developed his own style, somewhat related to the artists of the École de Paris. In the 1970s more light entered his work. The often symmetrical composition of his colorful work and the inclusion of numbers betrayed Coignard's interest in mathematics. The artist gained fame not only in Europe but also in the U.S., where he lived from 1985 to 1990 (the year in which this book was published). This special edition with the original lithograph has remained like new, preserved in a brown case. The edition was issued in three languages; this copy contains the German translation.
The book is carefully packed and sent by insured mail. Unfortunately, no shipping can take place to the U.S. due to the consequences of the policy of the American president.
