Beautiful vintage enameled cast iron pot from the Descoware brand dating from the 1970s.
It features a superb blue gradient, a color now uncommon in Descoware production and particularly sought after by enthusiasts of vintage Belgian enamelware.
Descoware pots were enameled in Belgium by Fonderies et Émailleries de Saint-Trond, a manufacturer now gone, which contributes to the growing rarity of these pieces on the vintage enameled cast iron market.
The brand is also known for being used by the famous American chef Julia Child in her cooking show The French Chef, which helped popularize these pots internationally.
