Two Art Déco ceramic pieces from Germany dating to c. 1930–1940: a mechanical desk clock with ivory glaze and hand-applied gold decor (1 day power reserve, winding key included) and a geometric porcelain vase with floral motifs; clock mechanism not tested and not in working order.
Description from the seller
Lot of 2 Art Deco ceramic pieces with gilding (c. 1925–1935).
Set consisting of a desk clock and a geometric vase, both made of ivory-glazed ceramic and decorated with hand-applied gold decorations. The two pieces feature geometric lines, pronounced symmetry, and stylized floral motifs, characteristic of European Art Deco.
The clock (c. 1925–1935) retains its original mechanism housed on the back. The square dial with Arabic numerals and the gilded bezel reinforce its period aesthetics. The ceramic displays a 1920s architectural design.
The vase (c. 1925–1935) presents an octagonal shape, three upper lobes, and floral decoration in soft tones. At the base there is a mould number and a butterfly, a mark typical of Central European manufactories (Austria/Germany) from the 1930s. The gilded details on the base and on the geometric motifs provide an elegant, high-quality finish.
Good overall condition on both pieces, with minor wear to the gilding consistent with age. The clock mechanism has not been tested.
