Description from the seller

In the center you read in Church Slavonic “Воскресение Господне” which means “Resurrection of the Lord”.

The scene shows Christ risen descending into Hades and raising Adam and Eve, a typical representation in Orthodox iconography called “Anastasis”.

Each small panel represents an important event in the life of Christ and the Virgin. The texts are in Church Slavonic.

At the top appear:

Nativity of the Virgin
Entrance of the Virgin into the Temple
Annunciation
Nativity of Christ

Left side:

Presentation of Christ in the Temple
Entry of Christ into Jerusalem
Ascension

Right side:

Baptism of Christ
Transfiguration
Exaltation of the Cross

Lower central part:
Dormition of the Virgin (death and glorification of Mary)

Support: wooden board
Technique: egg tempera on gesso (traditional Russian technique)
Inscriptions: Church Slavonic

This type of icons were used a lot to teach the complete liturgical calendar in a single image.
