Description from the seller
A series of close-up photographs by Martin Parr, the cult photographer from the Magnum agency, spanning from the 1990s to the 2010s. These images notably demonstrate the diversity of global gastronomy and the connection between food culture and national identity.
Martin Parr’s work dissolves the boundary between art photography and documentary photography. His unique perspective on mass culture and consumer society on a global scale, along with the abundance and inventiveness of his production, has placed him at the forefront of the contemporary photographic scene.
A member of the Magnum agency, Martin Parr is also a major collector of books, particularly photography books. He co-wrote The Photobook: A History, Volumes I to III. With Phaidon, he has also published The Last Resort (often translated in French as La Tendre Albion), Boring Postcards, and Boring Postcards USA, and has been the subject of a landmark monograph titled Martin Parr.
