Description from the seller
Giclée print on museum-quality premium paper 50 x 70 cm in a limited edition of only 5 copies.
This unique piece masterfully fuses the aesthetics of Socialist Realism with the Star Wars universe. The work is a parody of the famous Soviet anti-alcohol poster by Viktor Govorkov from 1954.
In place of the original worker, we find an Imperial Stormtrooper who, with a firm gesture of the hand, rejects a coin or a symbol of the Rebellion offered clandestinely beneath a plate of meat and vegetables. The contrast between the material painting technique (with thick, decisive brushstrokes) and the sci-fi iconography creates a satirical commentary on political loyalty and propaganda.
Production method: Development of a preliminary visual architecture through AI generative models to define composition, tonal values, and color schemes, followed by a meticulous manual digital painting intervention aimed at perfecting anatomy, integrating customized textures, and imprinting the artist’s distinctive stylistic imprint.
The Collective: SSICK LAB We are a collective of young Italian artists around 24 years old, born and raised with a visceral passion for art and pop culture. SSICK LAB was born as a creative workshop where we experiment with the fusion between the iconic aesthetics of contemporary media and historical visual languages.
