Samovar Russo Antigo – Fábrica de Egor Batashev, Tula (late 19th century / early 20th century)
Magnificent yellow brass samovar, produced at the famous Egor Batashev factory in Tula, the Russian capital of samovars. An authentic piece from the Russian imperial period, with multiple kleyam (original seals) visible, including the factory name “ФАБРИКА ЕГОРА БАТАШЕВА”, imperial eagles and prize medals won at industrial exhibitions of the era.
Characteristics:
Classic bulbous body in a vase shape, with side handles, original lid and wooden handles;
Ornate spigot and base with feet;
Traditional coal-fired system (with a central tube for fuel);
Excellent condition, with natural patina that enhances the piece.
This samovar belongs to one of the most prestigious dynasties of 19th-century Russian manufacturers. The Batashevs were known for their superior quality and numerous prizes, making their pieces highly collectible.
