Description from the seller
This stunning vintage Italian silver-plated food warmer(chafing dish or entrée server) was discovered in Tuscany— a true gem of mid-20th century European tableware craftsmanship.
Measuring 27.5 x 22.5 x 8cm cm and 920 grams, it features a beautifully perforated lid with an elegantl design for effective steam ventilation, ornate gadrooned (ribbed) borders for classic sophistication, beautifully scrolled handles embellished with detailed oak leaf and acorn motifs(evoking nature, strength, and abundance in traditional Italian design), and elevated on four sturdy cast feet styled as oak leaves transitioning into shell-like or paw bases (acanthus-inspired foliage with shell accents for stability and ornate flair).
The removable perforated insert and inner bowl make it versatile for warming vegetables, sides, casseroles, or sauces. It includes two small removable silver plated candle cups that insert into the base perforations; these hold tea lights or small votive candles to provide gentle, even heat from below—safe and stylish for buffet or table service without direct flame contact.
Produced in Italy (possibly by a Tuscan or northern Italian maker like those in the tradition of brands such as Leonard or similar silverplate houses), this piece dates to the mid-20th century or earlier, reflecting the refined, naturalistic detailing popular in post-war Italian silverware.
In good condition with lovely patina and shine, it's ready to grace any table or collection. Some vintage wear(see photos).
A charming, functional heirloom from Tuscany's rich artisan heritage—ideal for collectors, vintage lovers, or as a sophisticated gift!
Will be packed with special care.
