Description from the seller
Fascinating and rare Orientalist-style desk inkstand, crafted in patinated metal alloy (probably bronze or regulus), created for the famous Exposition Coloniale Internationale in Paris in 1931. The piece depicts with notable realism a man in traditional North African dress (likely a Tuareg or Berber) mounted on a donkey loaded with bundles.
