Description from the seller
Finely hand crafted Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) solid 900 silver cup.
The 5 petal shaped lobes delicately hand chased and engraved with ducks - some in flight, others alternately facing each other or with heads turned back - set in cartouches amidst scrolls on matted ground
It is rare to find Qing silver bowls of this simple yet elegant form decorated with an overall chased design as seen on the present vessel.
The design pattern is expertly placed and superbly executed, a testament to the very fine workmanship of the Qing silversmith. Vessels of this exquisite quality and rich decorative motif were made for imperial use at the many banquets held by the Qing court.
Apparently unmarked - as genuine 17th century antique are - and positively tested for high grade silver
Width 6,2
Height 4,2 cm
Foot diameter 3,4 cm
Net silver weight 75 grams
Condition report:
In fine circa 325 years old original condition, there is a 2mm crack on side of foot (picture 9) - great patina, minor scratches, a few dark areas need to be polished - no repairs, no dings, as you can see in pictures that are part of the description
