Native copper, very rare at this size and weight, a small rock imprisoned in copper, a piece of rare beauty with incredible finesse, solitary as it is made by Mother Nature, spectacular and unique. From one of the most famous deposits, the region of the Great Lakes in Michigan, United States. It is found notably in low-temperature hydrothermal veins or in volcanic or sedimentary zones. The color ranges from yellow to reddish-orange. Native copper is one of the purest forms of natural copper. It occurs in the form of threads, grains, nodules, and nuggets, which can be found dispersed among rocks or incorporated into larger veins. There are only very tiny traces of oxidation due to time and a greenish hue, which gives it a very beautiful patina.
