Description from the seller

Silver inkpot with engraving "In memory of the fate of the Blind" – Netherlands, ca. 1880-1920
Beautiful, small silver inkpot with a hinged lid and round foot. The object is richly engraved with the text:
"In memory of the fate of the Blind."
This type of object was often given as a gift, a commemorative piece, or an expression of support for a good cause. The phrase "In memory of the fate of the Blind" almost certainly refers to the Vereniging tot verbetering van het Lot der Blinden (founded in the late 19th century in the Netherlands), a well-known charitable organization for the assistance of the blind and visually impaired. Such inkpots served as corporate gifts, awards, or reminders of a donation or membership.
Dimensions (estimated from photos): approx. 6-8 cm diameter at the base, height including knob approx. 5-7 cm.
Weight: approx. 100-200 grams (typical for this size).
