We are pleased to present to you this exceptional and absolutely original piece of furniture by Carlo Bugatti from the period around 1900.
The exotically evocative forms draw on both Oriental and European architectural motifs. Even at the time of their creation, Bugatti's designs were considered provocative and represented a deliberate counter-design to the ideals of technology and industrial production promoted at world exhibitions.
The table impresses with its extraordinary variety of materials and its artisanal execution. It consists of different woods, supplemented by metal and leg inlays as well as copper and brass fittings. The artistic inlays and the tabletop made of hammered copper emphasize the exquisite craftsmanship.
Original works by Carlo Bugatti are rare works of art – accordingly highly valued and sought after.
