Description from the seller
Antique Professional Case with Compartments – Doctor/Dentist – Early 20th Century
Description:
Refined and imposing traveled professional case in heavy solid wood (likely walnut or stained beech), dating from the early decades of 1900. The object stands out for the complexity of its internal and external architecture, designed to transport precision instruments and flasks.
Exterior: Robust construction with partially visible dovetail joints, reinforced leather top handle with metal attachments and a central lockable closure (key present) flanked by two side snap hooks.
Interior: The top lid opens to reveal a fixed-compartment tray. Of particular interest is the circular perforated section (4 slots), typical for inserting glass flasks or test tubes.
Drawer unit: The front features 8 symmetric drawers arranged on four levels, equipped with original darkened metal knobs. The front panel is hinged to allow full opening or protection of the drawer unit during transport.
Condition: Very good considering its age. It shows a beautiful patina of time. Signs of surface wear and small woodworm holes (treated and inactive) that guarantee authenticity. Solid construction and drawers functioning perfectly.
Dimensions: 44 x 22 x 22 cm.
Weight: Substantial, indicative of the high quality of the solid wood used.
