Pair of hand-forged wrought-iron wall sconces in heraldic crowned-lion rampant form, bronzed finish, dating to the 20th century, made of smeedijzer with integrated drip pans and candle pins, mirror-imaged and originally intended for mounting on either side of a hearth or wall, in good antique condition with minor signs of age, approximately 20 cm wide, 14 cm deep and 50 cm high.

Very decorative and matching pair of hand-forged wrought-iron wall candle sconces in the shape of heraldic, crowned lions in rampant pose. The dimensions are an estimate.
Europe, presumably German/Alpine region, 20th century.
Executed in flat-forged iron with cut-out silhouettes, wrought tails and manes, and original integrated drip trays with candle pins.
The candle sconces form a mirror-image pair, originally intended for placement on either side of a fireplace, gate, or wall. Magnificent artisanal craftsmanship with a beautiful, aged patina.
In good antique condition, with signs of use and light oxidation appropriate to age. Not restored.
Provenance via international antique trade (label P&S International Trading Co., Amsterdam) and ultimately in a private collection.
A powerful statement piece for a classic, historic, or eclectic interior.
