Description from the seller
Aphex 188A
Aphex presents the new 188, an eight-channel microphone preamplifier that can be remotely controlled via Ethernet or MIDI, using the same devices that control the 1788A model, namely from the 1788A-RC controller or from the software (PC or Mac) 1788A-SW, or, using the optional interface model 5200, from an Avid control surface or a Yamaha digital mixer. The 188 features eight preamplifiers, each with transformer-isolated input, polarity selector, and a selectable 80 Hz high-pass filter. The preamps offer 26 dB of fixed gain and 39 dB of variable gain, for a total of 65 dB, and each input also includes a ‑26 dB attenuator. The channel analog outputs are available on a D-sub 25 connector, while the ADAT digital outputs are available on two TOSlink connectors, configurable as redundant or SMUX to enable operation at sample rates up to 96 kHz. The internal clock of the 188 can operate at 44.1, 48, 88.2, or 96 kHz and a word clock output is available. It also accepts input from external clocks operating from 44.1 to 96 kHz.
