Description from the seller
Vintage Christofle silver-plated petite cafetière (small coffee pot), 15 cm high. The width is 15cm including the handle and spout. Classic petite cafetière (individual or 2–4 person coffee pot, ~30 cl capacity). It belongs to Christofle’s traditional “modèle 17” line (the boxed “17” in the hallmarks is the exact pattern code).
Made on the famous Métal Blanc (nickel-silver alloy) base with fine silver electroplating, it features the iconic rococo/Louis XV revival style:
• Compact bulbous pear-shaped body on a small pedestal foot
• Elegant curved spout and ornate C-scroll handle with acanthus leaf details
• Domed lid topped with a pineapple-style finial
• Personal engraved monogram (interlaced script) on the body
The base hallmarks are crystal-clear and authentic:
• “CHRISTOFLE” cartouche
• “METAL BLANC” diamond mark (post-1878 plated line)
• “17” in separate boxes (official pattern indicator)
• French guarantee marks + serial 2483148
1930s–1950s (typical for this “Métal Blanc + 17” combination). Condition remains excellent — mirror polish, only light surface wear or plating loss. There is a small dent to the rear (photo 6). Perfect size for espresso, Turkish coffee, or a small tea service. Weight 351g - substantial for silverplate.
