Variscite (also Variskite) is a mineral in the mineral class of the “Phosphates, Arsenates and Vanadates” with the chemical composition Al[PO4]·2H2O[5], and is chemically a hydrated aluminium orthophosphate.

Variscite crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system and occurs predominantly in knobby, botryoidal, or massive mineral aggregates and crust-like coatings. Rarely it also forms isometric, pseudo-cubic crystals up to about 1.5 mm in size. In pure form the mineral is transparent and colorless. More often, due to impurities, it takes on greenish, blue-green, and rarely red coloration and can also be interspersed with brown matrix. The streak color is always white. With a Mohs hardness of 4.5, Variscite is still a soft mineral that can be easily scratched with a knife.

Shipping as insured registered mail.
