Description from the seller
My pieces are designed to be companions more than possessions. I give my objects organic and animated characteristics, hoping that people will grow attached to them like pets.
Vincent Decat is a Paris-based artist-designer, graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, who explores the boundaries between design and sculpture. He envisions an object's durability not only through its materials, but above all through the emotional bond it evokes. By making his objects almost alive, they become companions that must be cared for, kept, and cherished.
Aorta is a chair that awakens the senses.
The veins that traverse and envelop it invite touch and interaction. This network of vessels, which runs through the entire structure and emerges from it, makes the piece feel alive and brings the contact with the object.
It is composed of a metal frame covered with clay and plaster.
The piece is functional and equipped with a high seat.
It deliberately displays cracks, bearing witness to its artisanal craftsmanship.
