This is a manuscript of a theatre production, consisting of three script notebooks (Acts I, II, and III) typed on squared paper with numerous detailed staging directions and handwritten vocal scores integrated into the text.

The author is not formally identified on the cover, although the name “A. Taillisson” appears handwritten on the title page, possibly as owner or author of the booklet.

The text sits within the tradition of French vaudeville at the end of the 19th century, a period when “grand spectacle” shows mixing comedy and exoticism were extremely popular. This script seems to have been designed for a genre scene, perhaps for a provincial troupe or a Parisian neighborhood theatre.
