A pair of antique bedside tables in dark Madeira wood with barley twist legs, a carved front drawer, and a decorative bronze central handle, dating to 1930–1940, Portugal, in good used condition, measuring 65 cm high, 48 cm wide and 37 cm deep.

Pair of antique bedside tables, characterized by a classic and ornate style, often associated with Portuguese manufacture of the 19th century or early 20th century.
Main Features:
Leg Style: The most striking element is the twisted legs (barley twist or Salomónica style), linked by turned rails.
Carved Decoration: The front of the single drawer features a profuse carved work with vegetal and floral motifs. In the center of the drawer, a decorative drawer pull in metal or bronze stands out.
Material: They are typically built in solid dark wood, such as oak, walnut, or pau-santo.
Design: They have a contoured and open waist just below the drawer, which gives lightness to the piece despite the robustness of the wood.
Origin and Era: Although often described as French or Colonial Spanish style, these pieces are very common in Portugal, frequently referred to as Bilros-style furniture.
