Italian 1930s Art Nouveau commode in birch burl veneer with bronze handles and locks, three wide drawers, dimensions 144 x 52 x 100 cm, can be locked, in good used condition.
Description from the seller
Dresser with three wide drawers (52 x 100 x 144 cm) in the Gaetano Borsani style.
Original Italian 1930s piece in burl veneer of exceptional craftsmanship and condition, the bedroom offered here is complete with all its elements.
A rare opportunity as it marks the transition between Liberty style and Italian Rationalism. The piece dates to the second half of the 1930s.
The bedroom furnishings arrive complete and in excellent condition. The materials are precious, such as burl veneer and bronze for handles and locks.
In particular, the lively natural pattern of the veneer is enhanced by the extremely high level of workmanship.
The sober and linear style, which contrasts with the hyper-decorativeness dominant in the 1920s, still renders this piece current and original after almost a century of history.
The furniture, despite its beauty and historical value, does not renounce practicality, thanks to the four generous drawers of the dresser, the comfortable one-door-and-a-half wardrobe, and the rational bedside tables.
It constitutes an element to elevate a contemporary bedroom.
NB: the brand shown in the photograph is not found on the item for sale, but on another piece visible upon request."
