Beautiful Swedish agate snuff box with matching tamper – circa 1880–1900

This exquisite snuff box was made in Sweden in the late 19th century, crafted with richly colored banded agate set in detailed bronze fittings. The interior is lined with beautifully polished agate slabs, glowing in shades of red, amber, and honey.

Included is a matching agate tamper—cut from the same stone—which sits neatly (though loosely) inside. It was likely used to press or portion the snuff, making this an unusually complete and refined example.

A discreet crack is present on the inner left edge of the bottom agate plate. It is not visually disruptive and the stone remains securely in place.

An elegant and collectible item from a time when such small luxuries spoke volumes.
