Description from the seller

Beautiful, large operculate shell Chicoreus ramosus – popularly known as ramure murex or branching murex – is a species of predatory marine snail, a mollusk in the family Muricidae, the murex snails. C. ramosus has a large, solid, very durable and heavy shell. It has a relatively rounded outline, a short spire, a slightly inflated body whorl, and a moderately long siphonal canal. One of its most striking ornaments are the eye-catching, leaf-like, curved, hollow digits. It also features three axial ribs on the whorls, with two elongated nodes between them. Externally the shell ranges in color from white to light brown, with a white aperture, usually pink toward the inner edge, the outer lip, and the columella. Dimensions – 165/185/240 mm. I highly recommend it to collectors and interior decorators.
