Description from the seller
These two wall sconces feature a design clearly inspired by the Empire style, reinterpreted in the early 20th century, when this decorative language experienced a renaissance in domestic and representative lighting. They are made of gold-colored metal, probably brass, with ornamentation based on volutes, curved arms and classical finials that evoke the neoclassical aesthetic associated with the Napoleonic period: symmetrical balance, elegant lines, and a sober yet decorative air.
Each sconce has two arms ending in electric candle holders with candle-like covers, a common feature in the first decades of the 20th century to maintain the traditional appearance while electric lighting was adopted. They have been electrified recently, although the wiring system shows the need for a full modernization to ensure safety and optimal operation. Nevertheless, the metal framework and decoration are in good condition, preserving the classic character and decorative presence that make them so attractive in historically inspired interiors.
Insured shipping and careful packaging.
