Description from the seller

Beautifully Hand-Carved Jugendstil Teak Serving Tray with Brass Handles.
In Excellent Condition – No Reserve

A beautifully hand-carved dark wooden serving tray in authentic Jugendstil style, dating from the early 20th century.
Crafted from solid teak wood with superb floral and geometric ornamentation, this tray shows the refined craftsmanship typical of the Asian colonies (likely Indonesia or Ceylon) where such decorative household items were produced for the Dutch and German markets around 1890–1910.

The design reflects the organic yet symmetrical aesthetic that defined the Jugendstil movement, emphasizing nature-inspired motifs and masterful hand carving. The detailed rosettes and fan-carved patterns catch the light wonderfully, highlighting the warm dark tones of the polished teak surface.

Dimensions: 33,5 x 18 cm
Material: Dark Teak wood
Condition: In excellent pre-loved condition, no discoloration, solid joints, waxed and polished, ready for use or display. The wood is finished with a beautiful layer of varnish, ensuring it will retain this color.

A true eye-catcher in your home or office — both decorative and functional, representing the craftsmanship of the colonial era.
