Description from the seller
Offered, without a reserve price, a special and varied set of ceramic items by Dutch ceramic artist Han Boerrigter.
This collection mainly consists of characterful mugs and two pouring jugs, executed in his recognizable, experimental glazes. The plate in the last photo is probably also by Boerrigter. It is unsigned and comes with it.
The pieces stand out for their vivid and unique color combinations, ranging from earth tones to expressive blues, reds and purples. Each object has its own character, making this set highly suitable for collectors or lovers of studio ceramics.
Some of the items are signed. The hand-finished craftsmanship and the use of glaze techniques create an authentic and artistic whole.
Autobiography of the artist:
Han Boerrigter is a Dutch ceramic artist known for his expressive and experimental approach to glaze and form. His work is characterized by a pursuit of spontaneity and allowing chance in the firing process. By playing with temperature, materials and glaze reactions, unique, often unpredictable results arise.
Boerrigter works from a strong artisanal basis, yet is guided by artistic freedom at the same time. His objects balance between functional object and art object, where functionality and aesthetics come together. Over the years he has developed a recognizable style in which color, texture and imperfection play a central role.
Condition:
Generally in good condition. Some mugs show small chips at the rim, consistent with use and age (see photos for a good impression).
Number of items: 19 pieces
Special features:
Unique glaze and handmade character
Partially signed
Decorative and collectible.
This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a representative selection of Han Boerrigter’s work.
This lot is well packaged and shipped worldwide with PostNL via Catawiki’s shipping service.
