Antique two-part spoon mould from Belgium, dating to 1850–1900, made of bronze and metal, with dimensions about 21 × 10 × 8 cm and weighing around 1.5 kg.
Description from the seller
A beautifully preserved, authentic antique spoon casting mold (moule à cuillère). This sturdy instrument was formerly used by craftsmen to manually cast tin soup or porridge spoons.
The mold consists of two massive halves that fit together perfectly. Thanks to the characteristic support feet on the sides, the mold can be placed stably during the pouring process. The interior is notably pristine, which makes this mold not only a top piece for collectors but also, in theory, still usable for the traditional tin caster.
Features:
• Type: Two-part mold for a classic spoon.
• Material: Heavy cast iron (with a beautifully historic patina).
• Weight: approx. 1.5 kg (signaling its sturdiness and quality).
• Dimensions: Length 21 cm – ideal for a substantial model spoon.
• Condition: In very good antique condition. No cracks or heavy oxidation on the interior. The closure is accurate.
This object is a beautiful example of pre-industrial craftsmanship. An absolute asset for enthusiasts of old tools, antique tin, or as a decorative showpiece in a countryside kitchen.
