Description from the seller

The Blolo is a parallel universe to ours, invisible to most people. Every individual, male or female, has been married there, since birth, to his or her “mystic partner,” the “true” spouse, who has the privilege of “permanence” compared to the terrestrial spouse.
Most Blolo bla - feminine, the masculine being named Blolo bian - have their hands on the abdomen, near the navel, or on the breasts to emphasize the importance of life transmission. The statuette, placed in the spouse’s chamber, wrapped in a cloth, must be honored and fed.

This statuette wears a necklace of beads and a loincloth held by a bead belt.
Hard red wood.
Dry patina from handling.

Note slight desiccation cracks on the right side of the coiffure, at the bottom of the back, and at the rear of the base; not damaging the overall piece.

Sold with the base.

Height 37 cm x width 9.5 cm x depth 9.7 cm Weight: 910 g
