Miniature silver box from London dating to 1808 (Georgian period), made of solid .925 silver with an inner vermeil finish, measuring 3.5 x 2.5 x 1.3 cm and weighing 15 g, in good used condition with minor signs of wear.

Miniature silver box – London, 1808 – vermeil interior
Elegant and fine miniature box made of solid silver, rectangular in shape with rounded corners, decorated with delicate geometric motifs engraved with a burin and dotted borders, characteristic of English silversmithing of the early 19th century, Georgian period.
The interior presents vermeil (gold coating), a traditional technique used for both aesthetic reasons and conservation, intended to protect the contents and prevent oxidation.
Inside one can appreciate English contrasts, including assay mark and date letter corresponding to London, year 1808, as well as maker's mark partially visible.
