Rotaflex vintage pendant lamp from the 1950s–1960s, in good used condition with light signs of age, made of plastic, 32 cm high, 40 cm wide and 40 cm deep, origin United Kingdom, in a vintage minimalist style.
Description from the seller
Splendid and choreographic Rotaflex vintage pendant lamp from the 1960s. It is a minimalist suspended lamp made of translucent plastic (Rotaflex) and features a circular, mirror-like ribbed structure. Thanks to its unique materiality, this scenographic lamp presents itself as elegant and refined, both when lit and unlit. Rotaflex was founded in 1953, under the guidance of Bernard Stern, who in a few years made the company a leader in the British lighting industry. The company won several design awards during this period. Heifetz Manufacturing Company (founded by Yasha Heifetz, New York) is the American brand that sold these lamps in the United States under the name Heifetz Rotaflex. This type of lamp is part of the history of lighting design and they are rare lamps. The name Rotaflex refers to the enveloping design and the innovation used in cellulose acetate (the first form of plexiglass). For this reason, these lamps were often mistaken for glass until held in one’s hand. They fit perfectly in any modern, vintage, and design-oriented interior setting. The general condition is good with a fine, tasteful patina of time: the lamp has no breaks, the wiring is original to the period, and the ceiling cover cup is polished aluminum. SHIPPING: The lot will be carefully packed and protected, and shipping is trackable (track) with express courier.
