Set of 2 Amsterdam School chairs – ca. 1915–1930 – wood & leather – original copper nails – carved decorations

Description

Beautiful set of two original Amsterdam School chairs, manufactured between circa 1915 and 1930. The chairs display all the typical stylistic elements of this period:

- geometric back spindles
- one chair with carved cloverleaf ornament, typical for religious and school interiors from the period
- one chair with floral ornament in the upper rail
- original leather back and seat panels
- copper decorative nails
- warm patina of the wood

This combination – two different variants from the same period – is very decorative and sought after by collectors of Amsterdam School and The Hague School furniture.

Condition:

- Solid construction, no loose joints.
- Original leather present;
- Wood showing signs of age appropriate to the period.
- No cracks or missing parts.

A beautiful set to use as is or to lightly restore. Remains highly decorative due to the authentic finish and the carved woodwork.
