This is a very rare, impressive and professionally prepared 3D-crinoid specimen from the Permian of Australia that preserves part of the stalk.

The makers of "The Matrix" got the idea for the Sentinel from the crinoid fossils shown in these photos.

Corals, sometimes commonly known as sea lilies, are animals and not plants. They are echinoderms related to starfish, sea urchins and purple sea pens.

Comes with a stylish metal display stand for exhibition.

Find: Cundlego Formation, Wuchiapingian
Stage, Permian, 256 million years old
Gascoyne River, Gascoyne Junction, Western Australia

Crinoid size = 11.5 cm long.
Total height = 21 cm tall on the display
Note: the matrix is glued.
