Description from the seller

Stunning Philips BX430A /50 (1953) – Exceptional Reception & Fully Serviced

a beautiful example of 1950s Dutch craftsmanship: the Philips BX430A /50. This vintage Bakelite "low profile" table model has been meticulously cleaned and serviced, ensuring it remains a highly functional piece of history rather than just a decorative item.
While this model is dedicated to AM bands (Broadcast, Long Wave, and 2x Short Wave), its performance is truly exceptional. It stands out for its ability to pull in numerous stations with surprising clarity and volume, outperforming many other radios of its era. The sound quality is rich and warm, delivered through its original 8-inch permanent magnet speaker.
Condition:
• Technical: Fully operational. All bands work perfectly, and the tuning is smooth. It is remarkably "talkative" on Short Wave and Broadcast bands.
• Cosmetic: Very good condition. The Bakelite case has a deep, natural shine. There are a few minor, superficial scratches on the top surface that are only visible upon close inspection, which is expected for a device of this age.
• Visuals: The glass dial is crisp, and the DM71 Magic Eye tuning indicator is responsive.
