Description from the seller
Rare Olivetti Lettera 22 L Typewriter in the uncommon beige embossed colour, produced in 1952. This machine comes from the early production period, with serial number 999383 stamped on the frame.
The third series Lettera 22 can be recognized by its round glass keys, square Olivetti logo, and raised lettering on the paper rest, which distinguish it from later models. These early versions are highly collectible and represent an important piece of industrial design history.
The typewriter comes with its original carrying case, which shows some signs of wear consistent with age.
The Lettera 22 was designed by Marcello Nizzoli and Giuseppe Beccio. The design received the prestigious Compasso d’Oro, and the typewriter is part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The typewriter is in good condition and fully functional. All keys work properly, the carriage moves smoothly, and the machine types well. A new ribbon is recommended.
A rare opportunity to acquire an early Lettera 22 in a very elegant and collectible colour — perfect for collectors, writers, or as a decorative vintage design piece.
