Pair of antique brass candelabras in Rococo Revival style, circa 1900–1910, made in bronze/ottone with a tripod base, central vase body, five ornate scrolling arms and six sconces per piece, 56 cm high, 30 cm wide and deep, weighing about 5.5 kg, origin Italy, in good condition with signs of age.
Description from the seller
Splendid pair of antique bronze candelabras finely worked, dating from the second half of the 19th century, executed in an elegant Rococo Revival style with Neoclassical influences.
Each candelabrum features a richly decorated, tripodal base adorned with lion figures and refined pierced elements, supporting a central vase-shaped body enriched with vegetal motifs and relief details.
From the central shaft, five sinuous branches develop harmoniously, finely chased with scrolls and floral decorations, culminating in as many sconces, plus a central upper light. Particularly evocative is the presence of suspended decorative chains, which give movement and theatricality to the whole.
The quality of the casting and the ornate richness testify to a good level of craftsmanship, typical of European decorative production at the end of the 19th century.
The patina of time, warm and uniform, further enhances the authentic character and historic charm of the pieces.
Era: 19th century (circa 1870–1900)
Material: bronze/brass (likely solid casting)
Number of lights: 6 per candelabrum
Origin: Europe (likely France / Italy)
Style: Rococo Revival / eclectic
Conditions: generally good condition, with signs of use consistent with age
