Description from the seller

Refined center table (or wall table) in solid walnut wood, characterized by rich hand-carved decoration that recalls the taste of the Italian Renaissance. The piece stands out for its structural solidity and elegant proportions, making it a furniture item with a strong visual impact.

Main Features:

Top: Rectangular with a finely worked edge in a delicate “dentus” or fine beading, which gives dynamism to the upper profile.

Supports (Legs): The two side supports in vase- or lyre-like form are masterfully carved with acanthus leaf motifs, volutes and a central rosette.

Base: The legs rest on sturdy “lion’s paw” stylized bases, a symbol of nobility and strength in period furnishings.

Crosspiece: A contoured and carved crosspiece with a central medallion unites the two supports, ensuring structural stability and aesthetic continuity.

Conditions and Details:

The table is in good overall condition, with a magnificent natural patina that enhances the walnut grain.

You can notice some signs of time and use consistent with its age (small superficial scratches on the top, as visible in the photo).

Technical notes: The structure is solid. Classic looseness holes (now inactive) typical of antique solid-wood furniture are present, testifying to its authenticity and period. A first restoration intervention was carried out by applying termite treatment and a double coat of oil.

The underside of the table shows the artisanal workmanship of the boards and the original reinforcements.
