Ancient Egyptian diorite macehead from the Early Dynastic period (c. 2900–2600 B.C.), a spherical piece tapering to the base with a central hole for securing a handle, 6.4 cm long, with a chip at the base but otherwise intact.

Spherical mace head, tapering towards the base, hole in the centre to secure to a handle.
Size: 6.4 cm L - 2 1/2 inches
Material: Diorite
Culture: Egypt, Early Dynastic Period, c. 2900-2600 B.C.
Condition: Chip to base, otherwise intact
Provenance: British collection, Mr. O. H., acquired on the London art market in the 1980s.
