A figurine bird-shaped bottle made of green cut glass with silver mounts (head, legs and collar) in .915 silver, dating to 1940–1950, 14 cm high, 5.5 cm wide, 6.5 cm deep, weighing 177 g, originating from Spain, in good used condition with minor signs of age, suitable as a vinegar cruet, oil cruet or liqueur bottle.
Description from the seller
Elegant and original figurative bottle in the shape of a bird, made of carved green glass with decorative silver mounts, including head, legs and collar. The bird's head features golden details that provide contrast and refinement, while the body of translucent green glass offers a very decorative visual effect.
This type of piece was traditionally used as a cruet for vinegar, oil, or small bottles for liqueurs, especially on elegant mid-20th-century tables. The zoomorphic form was highly valued in European decorative glassware, combining functionality and artistic value.
Pun zones (stamps) are observed on the silver mount, probably European silver (possible Portuguese or Central European origin), made in the second half of the 20th century.
Characteristics:
• Material: carved green glass and silver
• Decoration: Bird head with golden details
• Style: Zoomorphic / decorative
• Use: Vinegar cruet, oil cruet, or liquor bottle
• Origin: Europe (probable Portugal or Central Europe)
• Era: 20th century
Measurements:
• Height: 14 cm
• Width: 5.5 cm
• Length: 6.5 cm
• Weight: 177 grams
Very good overall condition, with slight signs of use consistent with age. Very decorative and collectible piece.
