Description from the seller
Elegant circular box in Portuguese silver 833, with fire-gilded interior / vermeil, made with refined decorative relief work. The lid features a beautiful naturalistic floral composition, with a branch of flowers and leaves modeled in high relief on a pebbled background, an ornamental technique that adds depth and a striking visual effect.
The piece stands out for its sober and harmonious design, typical of 20th-century Portuguese goldsmithing, combining functionality and decorative value. The gilded interior enhances the quality of the piece and better protected the contents, so this type of box could be used for chocolates, lozenges, fine tobacco, small sweets, or small jewelry.
It bears Portuguese hallmarks, corresponding to 833 silver, confirming its origin and authenticity. Its floral aesthetics and the treatment of relief recall the naturalist taste with Art Nouveau influence, highly appreciated in decorative silver objects.
