Chalcedony belongs to the family of microcrystalline quartz and forms over millions of years through the deposition of silica-rich solutions in cavities and cracks of the Earth's crust. The characteristic golden color of this freeform is the result of mineral trace elements such as iron oxides, which give the stone its warm glow. Especially fine specimens come from Madagascar, Namibia or Brazil, where these unique varieties are found.
This artistically cut freeform is not only an aesthetic collectible but also an impressive decorative object that carries the natural beauty of the Earth within it. Its warm, soothing color palette makes it a harmonious element in any environment and gives rooms an elegant yet earth-connected radiance.

It is a fossil wood dating back 200 million years, all parts from a log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were little by little replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all the living matter was replaced by stone: there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks.
Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood: the silicon.
And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in the common language.
