Description from the seller
Oil lamp with three brass lights – 19th century
Elegant and captivating brass oil lamp dating from the 19th century, an authentic antique object that testifies to the taste and refined domestic engineering of the era. The slender, harmonious structure culminates in a central reservoir from which three wick-holder nozzles branch out, designed to diffuse a warm and even light in the homes of the time.
The central body, slightly bulbous in shape, is supported by a turned stem resting on a shaped, richly profiled and sturdy base. The metal displays a wonderful natural patina developed over time, enhancing the warm tones of brass and restoring the full authentic charm of a historical object.
A particularly evocative element is the presence of the upper rod with a ring, typical of suspension or adjustment lamps of the period, together with the small pendant accessory connected by a chain, used for handling and maintaining the wicks. Details that recount the functionality and ingenuity of lighting devices before the advent of electricity.
This type of lamp was commonly used in domestic environments, study rooms, libraries, or noble salons, and today represents a precious collectible item, capable of enriching classical, antique, or eclectic settings with a strong visual and historical impact.
Very good condition, consistent with the object's age. Original patina preserved.
Proper packaging and trackable shipping throughout Europe.
