Victorian Sterling Silver Chocolate Pot – London 1886 – David Bridge

An elegant and refined Victorian chocolate pot, crafted in solid sterling silver and assayed in London in 1886, during the reign of Queen Victoria.

This fine piece is made by the respected London silversmith David Bridge, known for high-quality silver hollowware in the late 19th century.

The chocolate pot features a beautifully spiral-fluted body, enriched with rococo-revival scrollwork, standing on four ornate feet. The hinged domed lid is topped with a decorative finial, and the original turned wooden side handle provides excellent insulation from heat. The shaped spout is designed for pouring thick hot chocolate, as was customary in the Victorian period.
