Original Animation Drawing
Presented is an exceedingly rare animation drawing featuring the eponymous monkey George from Curious George, directed by Matthew O'Callaghan. Adapted from the children's picture books written and illustrated by Margret (1906-1996) and her husband H. A. Rey (1922-1977), this film retells the origin story of how the Man with the Yellow Hat and George meet and their hijinks filled adventure to save a closing museum. The drawing is rendered in a combination of graphite and colored pencil on 16 field 3-peghole animation paper.
Released to theaters on February 10, 2006, this is an outstanding collection to celebrate the film's 20th anniversary! The lot shows light production handling and edge wear including creased corners, superficial wrinkling, and middle peghole supports. Overall, in Very Good condition.
