Bookends (2) - Marble - Art deco

Art deco Bauhaus bookends or mantel ornaments from Belgium, circa 1925. The bookends, with typical Bauhaus shapes such as straight angles and semi-circular curves, are partly made of marble. In this version, different types and colors of marble were used, and there are beautiful bronze shield-shaped emblems mounted on the front of the bookends. At the top there is an opening to store something,... The marble pieces were affixed to a kind of mold to produce, during these crisis years, a small number of decorative pieces. Very decorative pieces from the previous century! The bookends are in used condition with light signs of wear. Some small chips are present. I don’t find anything distracting. Everything is clearly visible in the photos. Please study the photos carefully to verify their condition. The photos are part of the description. Height 16.5 cm, Depth 7.5 cm, Width 9.5 cm. The bookends are shipped with tracking so the shipment can be followed. Shipments outside the EU, to the UK and USA may incur additional costs such as customs duties and VAT.
