Beautiful Chinese seal dragon.
The three dragons fighting for the "flaming pearl" (火珠, huǒzhū) is one of the most iconic motifs in Chinese art.
The pearl symbolizes wisdom, spiritual enlightenment, luck and divine power. In Buddhist context it often represents the "wish-fulfilling jewel" (cintamani).
Meaning:
Dragons: In Chinese culture dragons are auspicious beings that symbolize power, strength, happiness and control over water and weather
The pearl: Represents spiritual essence, enlightenment and cosmic energy
Three dragons: The number three is auspicious and symbolizes harmony and balance
The struggle: Not as conflict, but as dynamic energy and the pursuit of enlightenment
Function of the seal:
Chinese seals (印章, yìnzhāng) were used as a personal signature on documents, artworks and official papers. This type of decorative seal with a dragon motif was often used by scholars, officials or collectors.
