A volume in octavo (160 x 245 mm), [2] leaves, 260 pages. Bound in red morocco with a red morocco spine featuring four raised ribs decorated with the author’s name, the title, and gilded compartments; boards in red percaline, in excellent condition. 62 black-and-white illustrations, 13 of which are full-page. 4 color plates. Scattered foxing on the interior pages, well preserved. Ex Libris recording the award of excellence from De Belfort High School in 1882.
